It is possible to read in the presentation text written by the curator of the municipal gallery, António Gonçalves. "Sound becomes a presence in his painting and drawing work, in his sculptural objects or installations, even when there are no apparatuses or means that produce or emit sound", the document stresses.
The exhibition Pedro Tudela is presenting in Famalicão is composed of a nucleus of drawings from the series entitled "Present Past", consisting of a selection of about a dozen works on paper using watercolour, India ink, and gold leaf, and an installation sculpture, made with steel cable, glass, wood, metal, and heat-shrinkable sleeve.
The drawings that will be exhibited are works in which the artist revisits his universe of painting from the 90's, exploring the stains in an articulation with geometric shapes, creating rhythms that refer to the sound field.
