From next Monday 17 June, there are more reasons to enjoy the outdoors and exercise in Vila Nova de Famalicão. The municipal "Move-te" programme is back and until 12 July it will cover the four corners of the municipality of Famalicão with a practically daily programme that includes nearly two hundred free outdoor classes.
The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão in partnership with more than 70 local institutions - including parish councils, associations and gyms in the municipality - includes a total of 187 classes, lasting 60 minutes at different times, led by municipal sports teachers and coaches and local gyms that are associated with the initiative.
"Move-te" will take place in three dozen parishes in the municipality, totalling 11,000 minutes of physical activity, spread over 33 disciplines, such as pilates, yoga, aerobics, zumba, Afro-Latin, capoeira, functional training, crossfit, obstacle races, among others.
Devesa Park, Tílias Park (Fradelos), Ribeira Park (Joane) and Quinteiro Park (Oliveira São Mateus) are some of the spaces that will host the initiative's classes, the calendar of which can be consulted at www.famalicaodesportivo.pt.
This year, "Move-Te" will close with a night walk on 12 July at 21h00. The race will start at Seide Parish Park and will involve a 10-kilometre route of medium difficulty. It is subject to prior registration, using a form available soon on the Famalicão Desportivo portal.
