The European Football Championship in Germany, which starts on June 14 and ends on July 14, is one of the ingredients of this summer's Praça - Famalicão Market, where all the matches of the competition will be shown on a giant screen, in a space that is expected to be a meeting point for Famalicenses to watch the national team play.
Until the end of September, the evenings in the square will also be the stage for lots of entertainment with fado, jazz, tribute bands and sunsets with DJs.
The restaurant area is the meeting point for this initiative, which combines moments of musical entertainment with gastronomic proposals from Mikadinho, Camionete, Tapearia Portuguesa, Bubbles, Caramella and La Via Restaurante.
This Saturday, June 1, there's the Jazz Square, with a show starting at 23h00, and on Sunday the Sunset Square, with DJs also at 23h00. On Friday (June 7), at 20h00, there will be a tribute concert to António Variações and on Saturday and Sunday (June 8 and 9) Sunset Square will also feature DJs from 23h00.
Há Verão na Praça’ is an entertainment programme promoted by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão in conjunction with the restaurants in Praça - Famalicão Market and with the collaboration of Acafado and Jam Jazz Minho.
It should be remembered that the Municipal Market, located on Avenida Marechal Humberto Delgado, is a space that includes the permanent market and the cyclical market from Monday to Saturday - the former operating from 08h00 to 20h00, and the latter from 07h00 to 13h00 - and the esplanade area which is open from Sunday to Thursday, and on public holidays, from 09h00 to 24h00, and on Fridays, Saturdays and public holiday eves from 09h00 to 01h00.
