Famalicão Municipality joins the Diaspora Investor Support Network
04-08-2022
The Municipal Executive Board of Vila Nova de Famalicão approved, in the last City Hall Meeting, the adhesion of the Famalicão municipality to the Support Network for the Diaspora Investor (RAID), a project whose main goal is to support Portuguese emigrants and Portuguese descendants who wish to invest or expand their economic activity in Portugal, as well as national companies who wish to internationalise their business through the diaspora.
By joining RAID, the Famalicão City Hall intends to develop the local economy and to enhance Famalicão in the international context, providing local entrepreneurs with a wider network of contacts to exchange experiences and acquire new business partners, and attracting the famalicense emigrant community to invest in the municipality.
In this regard, the City Hall and the AEP Foundation (Associação Empresarial de Portugal) promoted, on last July 28, a meeting of the Global Diaspora Network, which took place at the Camillian Studies Centre. The town councillor for Economy and Entrepreneurship, Augusto Lima, and the administrator of the AEP Foundation, Henrique Veiga de Macedo, attended the initiative.
The several entrepreneurs present at this meeting were presented to the platforms created under the scope of the Global Diaspora Network project, which contain information on companies created abroad by Portuguese emigrants and on exporting Portuguese companies, promoting matching for the promotion of business and exports.
This is the case of the Portal de Negócios (www.portaldenegocios.redeglobal.pt) - a database that currently has around 5 thousand Portuguese, in 130 countries, and exporting companies that register themselves in search of business opportunities and international networking - and the Diaspora Business Intelligence platform (http://bi.redeglobal.pt/)
