Sharing experiences, bringing companies closer and fostering the exchange between companies and institutions of the scientific and technological system is one of the goals of the entrepreneurial and scientific mission of Famalicão, which is in China for a fortnight.
The initiative came from an invitation by the Chinese Embassy in Portugal and the Wuhan Textile University, in cooperation with the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Three dozen people representing universities, business associations, technology centres, training centres and companies and the Municipality, through the presence of the Councillor for Economy, Entrepreneurship and International Relations, Augusto Lima.
"Making known the best that is done in Famalicão in the textile sector, promoting the industry and the scientific and technological system, thus creating opportunities for future relations between companies and universities, namely in textile applications to health, to the automobile, to sports and protection, areas of privileged research of the Textile University of Wuhan", said Augusto Lima.
The delegation is composed by entities of reference in the sector such as CITEVE, the University of Minho, Modatex, ATP, and companies such as ROQ, SweaTrofa, Cityberia, Fradelsport, Riopele, and Nalmok Consulting.
"China can be seen not only as a supplier, but also as a partner and client, due to the strong need for products with higher added value and opportunities to develop research and development projects, enhancing the attraction and exchange of talent. Another point to highlight is the possibility of attracting investment in technological and industrial areas, so this mission may contribute to the implementation of the Created IN Famalicão strategy", added Augusto Lima, convinced that "the dynamics we saw here and what we showed of Vila Nova de Famalicão will be the reason for new missions in both directions, enhancing business, innovation and attraction of investment and talent".
The Business Mission Programme includes meetings and conferences, visits to the University and companies, namely in Wuhan, Beijing, Hangzhou and Zhaoxing.
